dc20willsave
John Stewart is leaving The Daily Show at the end of the year. I feel like it's time. His career is pulling towards directing. Too bad John Oliver already has his gig on another network.
Koete
Yeah. 15 years hosting the show, directed a movie, beloved by millions, it's a good time to step down.
dc20willsave
We'll have a few months of people speculating over who's going to take over now. Going to say right now, I'm sure it'll be Jason Jones though I would prefer Samantha Bee.

Dread
My favorite tweet about it was from Patton Oswalt: "I win at last." -- Tucker Carlson, jerking off into his bow tie drawer #JonStewart

dc20willsave
I smiled at something involving John Cena. I kinda feel sick now.
Koete
I don't know about being Del Toro's ultimate masterpiece, but it does have Actual Goddess Jessica Chastain in it.

slothian
In preperation for tomorrow night's HAA! recording, I've watched both the original version of Carrie and the 2013 remake. I know Will's a fan, but I'm surprised that this one story has had so many different versions, including a failed musical.
dc20willsave
At one point, Hannah and I were going to give Carrie the treatment we've been giving the various princess movies where we compare the different versions of the story. Between the novel, the two movies, the musical (the original version and the revival from a couple of years back), and the TV Movie/failed backdoor pilot for a few years ago, it's been done a lot for a novel that came out in 1974. Each version is mostly different in it's execution with only the original and the 2013 remake really feeling very close in how it was done but there's still enough of a difference. Venneh
Hulu is doing the thing where it gives me two free weeks of +, and then I watch all the TV possible and then cancel at the absolute last minute. What should I be catching up on? So far Bob's Burgers, Brooklyn 99, Parks and Rec, and Agent Carter (for the sake of playing it on repeat and boosting its numbers) are in the queue. JackFetch
I'll admit it. I'm intrigued. http://youtu.be/kMVGScC0vDA
Stavros
That was so promising right up until the premise becomes clear. Then I have no idea what it is and judging from that trailer neither does the film itself. Seriously, can Adam Sandler just do a straight movie where he acts? Because he's good at that! Dan
Electra Woman and Dyna Girl is being rebooted, starring Grace Helbig (Daily Grace) and Hannah Hart (My Drunk Kitchen). This is either going to be hilarious or a trainwreck.
Dread
I gave Better Call Saul two episodes. The thing is, it's wonderfully acted. Almost every scene has a great moment of acting and McKean and Odenkirk are brilliant. The problem is that there is almost a complete lack of comedy OR dramatic tension. There were more laughs in one appearance of Saul in Breaking Bad than there are in the first two episodes. I'm out.

KnightWing
Helbig and Hart are pretty much masters of the "so lame it's hilarious" shtick. So I'd bet it's the other way around.

I think its the awkward position of wanting to appeal to old fans while having a different show that has its own merits. So far there have been two little treats that reward BB watchers but I agree it's yet to find its feet. Laughs and/or drama is very few and far between and the first three episodes mostly establish what the character of Jimmy is like at this point in time and the people around him. I'm sticking around because I'm still interested in seeing how he changes and I trust that it's building and will have more punch to it soon enough.
