Gareth
With the original series being the exception, I think pretty much every Star Trek series got better as it went along.
KnightWing
TNG Season 2 maintains a "watchable, moderately enjoyable" standard. They fixed a LOT of problems. But yes, it's not "good" or "great" until 3.
dc20willsave
Season 2 is better but not by much. I am still firmly of the mind that Star Trek got better the less Gene Roddenberry was involved.
Stavros
When a random episode of a Star Trek show comes one there are certain signs that tell you if it's more likely to be good or bad. Uniforms without piping- good. Sisko had his beard- good. Harry Kim is in it- bad. You get the idea.
dc20willsave
I counter that with Harry Kim was in Bride of Chaotica.
Stavros
I said signs. I never said that Harry Kim couldn't be in a good episode, just that it was statistically impossible.
KnightWing
Season 2 is better but not by much. I am still firmly of the mind that Star Trek got better the less Gene Roddenberry was involved. The fact that TOS got worse when Gene became less involved seems to point to the opposite, but it's definitely true of TNG. Ronald D Moore seemed to think that Gene was at a stage in his life during TNG where he'd kind of gotten too high off all the praise for being a visionary and went a little bonkers. Missy
The rumor on wrestling sites is that Liev Schreiber will be playing Chris Benoit in a movie called Crossface.
Molly
That could be really good. Schreiber is a great actor.

Stavros
Oh man, a Benoit movie would be SO weird. They'd have to cast Eddie, and Vince, and the rest. So freakin weird.
MaxPower
Apparently Liev said he isn't doing it. Unless Benoit is the villain in the movie, how do you create a character that connects with the audience for 90 minutes who ends up in a murder suicide involving their own child? Stavros
You don't have to sympathise with a protagonist to make a great story. Not many people share the world view of Travis Bickle for example.
JackFetch
Liev Schreiber is way too big to be Benoit.
Guest
There aren't a ton of short roided-up actors with T-Rex arms out there.
JackFetch
Yeah, but he's 6'3" and under 200 pounds. Benoit was 5'9" and 230. There is no way you can pass one for the other.
Dread
I would argue the rational point that perhaps body shape/size is the least important aspect of an actor synchronizing with a real life character.
JackFetch
Not in a movie about a wrestler. The guy's body was his livelihood, and was pretty distinct. You wouldn't make a movie about Hulk Hogan and cast a short doughy guy would you?
SuaveStar
TMZ has posted a story correcting an earlier report that Hollywood actor Liev Schreiber was set to play Chris Benoit in the upcoming biopic on the former WWE Superstar's life and tragic end. According to the report, Schreiber's reps say the X-Men star is not on board with the film, currently listed as in pre-production. The film is based on Matthew Randazzo's biography Ring of Hell: The Story of Chris Benoit & The Fall of The Pro Wrestling Industry. It is being directed by foreign film maker Vicente Amorim, and at this time does not have a release date. http://www.wrestlezone.com/news/275061-update-tmz-corrects-earlier-story-on-liev-schreiber-in-chris-benoit-biopic So the discussion about him being suitable, is now a moot point. Guest
Making a movie based off of murder in which we have no real grasp of the motivations? Basing it off of the most factually inaccurate and poorly written wrestling book ever published? Unknown Brazilian director that probably works for cheap? Sounds like a real winner. JackFetch
I'm watching a test movie that is truly awful. Hey, 20 bucks is 20 bucks though right? Amazon really doesn't know what they are doing when it comes to making good movies and tv shows.
dc20willsave
I want a Kaiju film where the monster tries to protect Japan from singing school children.
Venneh
Pacific Rim is the most epic fucking movie I've seen in a damn long time. Go. Watch it now. Watch it twice.
JasonC
Pacific Rim is the most epic fucking movie I've seen in a damn long time. Go. Watch it now. Watch it twice. Seconded. Absofragginglutely. Kept me riveted to the screen for the entire run time. No film has done that in a long time, including Avengers.
